hello! i would like to register for a domain on go daddy, but i dont want to provide my true details because it will be public and also i dont want to pay them for hidding my details in whois. so my question is if i enter fake details and than pay with paypal is it ok? thanks !
Well you can try this http://www.2-hosts.com/ with free privacy, email forwarding dns hosting etc.. I can ask my friend to give you a free web traffic e-book though if you like.
name.com internet.bs namecheap.com provides whois protection so better use such services because godady suspends and charge some ( 70$ i think ) money for fals whois
Yes, this is exactly what I was going to suggest you. Use Name.com instead ( and probably with some coupon code ) it will give you domain at almost the same price but with a free whois private. And if you want to go with godaddy. I guess there is no problem with fake identity, unless someone want to contact you for some important deal. It is illegal however, but less chances of any harm.
You can try www.OrderDN.com free whois privacy for any domain (when the TLD allows it) Paypal is accepted too. Thank you
Try www.1isi.com Just Extra 1.00$ For whois privacy. They are ICANN Register also. Enom also Recommend But Price High for 1 Domain
But why you want to hide your details? I mean if you are escaping from scammers then don't do this. Always provide right information.
Ya that is ok as long as you don't want to earn out of adsense from that domain. coz google needs that your domain registration details to be matched with your address.
There are people who need protection , it does not automatically make them criminals, if it did , there would be no such thing as a privacy option. For example people that have been abused by others in their lives, that now have all their details available on the web with address and phone number. Many of these people probably may not know how easy it is to search whois. I think an email and a company name should be enough for a contact detail , but as said, you may lose your domain if you change details. Its my opinion that they plaster everything on the web for all to see, so that we have to invest in protection if we need it. its all the same multinational intertwined. more money$££ is the game, fingers crossed the people that need protection do not own multiple sites, owwch, not right at all!
i think you'd have to give your real details to godaddy but maybe in the domain management panel aftter purchase leave the name field blank? but leave the same email you gave godaddy? so there is a contact. maybe ?
If you buy a certain number of domains (I think it's 5) through GoDaddy then they give you free privacy for each one. So just register a few domains at once and you're sorted. If you don't have a few you want to register then .infos are less than a dollar.
thanks john is that every year or just the first year? i just found this link below, it is rather interesting , a person changed his whois data and then at a later date attempted a release to another registrar. godaddy refused as they said they did not know who he was. check it out forums.nodaddy.com/index.php?topic=867
Just for the first year. But hopefully after a year the site is earning enough that $5 for continued privacy doesn't bother you
