Hi, my client use my reseller hosting for 40+ days and he is chargeback in his credit card company. I am submit all online proof to paypal but now paypal send me email 'buyer cc company reverced money' its a 100% paypal seller protection? Also paypal charge me settelment fee + claimed money. Next time if someone chargeback money then good option is refund money?(100% unprotection )
Well PayPal dun favor buyer if you are dealing in digital good and you can't provide them shipment proof. Beware while dealing next time. Thanks
If buyer initiates charge back through his/her credit card company, is Paypal helpless in such a case? Has anybody seen any instance when looking at the supporting documents provided by the seller, Paypal taking up the case with buyer's CC company and denying the refund till the case is resolved? Regards, RightMan
Referring the dispute to Paypal is just a initial attempt to find a resolution. Paypal will give a decision based on the details of the transaction...however the buyer can still make a chargeback from his/her creditcard. The credit card issuer makes the final decision if chargeback is valid. Once the buyer makes a chargeback from the credit card company Paypal has no responsibility in the issue except to provide all the facts and details to the credit card company. On receiving the chargeback request the creditcard company will refund the buyer the disputed amount. The credit card holder is still liable to pay the amount if the credit card company decides the chargeback is not valid.
Many scammers pay via Paypal exactly to do this charge back via credit card afterwards. Your best protection used to be Paypal account status (verified/unverified) plus number of transactions (reputation) of parties involved but, correct me if I'm wrong, Paypal doesn't show off such reputation stats until it's too late. I mean until transaction has been done.
Well if you sell digital goods, paypal will not protect you as their seller protection programm is only for tangible goods..
PayPal does at times review disputes carefully, I've been successful with two physical good orders. However in most cases credit card companies usually approves charge backs.
