If you have access to a Mac running OS X (friend, school, library) you can actually print your documents straight to PDF

    Hi Aronald

Thanks, I just downloaded it but however, the size limit for upload conversion is only under 1MB limit which I tried anyways and it is great but several of my files I want to convert are over 3MB so do you know which area or where I can download for that size please?

    Thanks

Use Open Office. You can get it for free, it will read Office docs, and it will convert to PDF. I have both open office and MS Word and I prefer Open Office just because of the PDF feature.

CutePDF is definitely the best solution on Windows. It's easy to use. After you install, it adds a new printer to your system. So if you want to convert a Word doc you just "Print" it through the CutePDF printer and you're done.

I have used PDF995 for years now--no problems. They also have a product called Edit995 where you can create an index and page numbers in the PDF (among other things). They also have a product called Signature995 where you can encrypt the PDF and keep someone from copying text in it and from printing it. All are free tools. They have ads built in but that is usually not a problem.

If you install Microsoft Office 2010, you will be able to choose pdf in "save as" options.
Or you can try PDFCreator (freeware) that cooperates with MS Word and Open Office Writer (and many others btw): when you create your document just click "print" and choose PDFCeator and it will transform your file to pdf automatically. Then just save it. Voila! :)

    download the pdfcreator in sourceforge.
all you need to do is click file > print > chose pdfcreator > the software will convert the file into a pdf.
even file.txt can be converted to pdf by just following that instruction.
