Negative paypal balance - 260$

Okay recently I received 260$ for a account. I transferred it to my main paypal account. Later I check my account that first got the money and it was negative. I was at the chargeback status and so I emailed them explaining what happened ofc the buyer wins the dispute. I got a email a couple weeks ago saying that it will take 75days for the buyers credit card company to make up their decision. On the account lies my real name and address. I have no problem paying it but I can't atm. Will anything happen to me if I don't? Please post if you know what you're talking about, would be helpful if it happened to you. Thanks.

 

Yes people pay 18% late fees to CC companies so they have more rights .

The amount is not huge... for Paypal to initiate legal proceedings.
I guess, they would keep sending you reminder e-mails about the negative balance, requesting you to bring it in order... asap!

Their wont be any problem in this case. No legal actions can be taken for such small amount...

 

Well PayPal won't take legal action for just mere $236..rather they will keep on sending you emails again and again. At the most they can close your account after some time if you won't respond to them.

I've experienced as you, if u not restore a negative balance, ur account will limited acces

 

leave that, since you transfered the money to other account., i suggest to make new account.

I don't have money and I can not pay!! They sent me the mail that this is last warning and I should pay or else they will contact collection agencies !!

I guess you live in the us, too bad maybe cause if you were living in Pakistan they wont send anyone
on the side note though, I think if you can't pay, then you can't pay, you don't have an option but to leave it as is and for them to close the account, but they can also find your other account and close that too.

My friend took $1280 USD of paypal now he is tension free they will not come to you for such low amount

 

I have the same problem. It was my first time to use PayPal and was a bit skeptical in using it because of all the negative things that I've been hearing about it but I was left with no other choice but to use it since I really need the money and my buyer has asked me if he can send the payment there since western union is so expensive. I am from the Philippines sold a macbook pro for 650 USD and the buyer filed a claim against me. I already gave every possible evidence that I could give to PayPal like tracking number, screenshots of our conversations, invoice etc. but they still sided with the buyer. I already withdrew the amount after the buyer said that he already received his order and was surprised that it is almost new. It is indeed, almost new. I told him that I only used it for like 4 months and still has warranty on it. After withdrawing, I also removed my bank account and my credit card details since I am still unsure if I will be using their services in the future. I heard that some people had some experiences wherein PayPal can access those things without your owner's permission. I don't want that to happen to me so I just removed them but I didn't close my account yet since I am unsure if I will be using their services in the future or not. A week after that, my buyer sent an unauthorized claim and Paypal sided with him.

That is when I became furious with PayPal. What will Paypal do to me? Will they send my case to the collections agency? I got relocated by the way because my company assigned me to a different area in the Philippines. The only way that they could get in contact with me is via my email and my mobile phone. I hope you could share some of your experiences. Thank you!

I would just play by PayPal rules and pay them, if you can't pay them then wait or make a small loan and pay them, I prefer to be honest.

 

PayPal rarely takes legal action for low amounts owed to them. I would not worry if i were you, i doubt anything will happen.
