I have seen in this forum that people are summiting to hundreds of directories. At a couple of dollars per month per directory that is a lot of money. Is it not worth your time to summit to just a few a week? Is that like filling a gallon of water one drop at a time? And am I missing something about the cost?
Too many are crappy and a waste of time. I would fine the good ones and submit like 10-12 per month for 6-12 months.
submitting to high pr sites is good but getting backlinks period will get you the traffic. PR only may matter with SERPS but backlinks is the way to go if you want traffic
First Check page rank of directory it is one of the major factor. Dont get link from same IP directory.
I was using a program called web summiter to do this faster but it has a limited nr of directories to sumit. So do this manualy
I won't submit my website to directories. Since the majority of them are garbage in my personal opinion. It's kind of like a giant link farm. Of course I would always recommend Dmoz and Yahoo.
doing that in a day is not advisable... I suggest make your linking strategy more natural to make sure your site won't get flag as spam that is using automated tools.
you need to have accurate list in which you get quick approval otherwise you have to submitt to as many directories as possible hoping for best that your site will get approved..
If ranking #1 on google was easy then we would publish the instructions for you now. Submitting to directories is one way to help your rankings. There are all kinds of strategies people use from submitting to only new directories, to only submitting to established directories, to paying someone to submit to hundreds or thousands. I have always recommended that you do it yourself and manually. It's not difficult to spend 15-20 minutes a couple of times per week. Over time you will start to be listed and it may very well help your rankings. Where possible, especially find directories in your niche or locale.
