Yes it can harm your website if you are using duplicate content... Keep in mind always trying to use unique content and update your site....
Of course it would. The only one would be show as a reult while the other one would be banned or penalized somehow. It depends on inbound links.
what if i spin the content a little bit on the other website? Will it have the same effect as having a duplicate content?
Google will penalize you but sometime i observe that google give great preference to duplicate content than original but basically it harms to ranking so avoid.
Yes, will affect the seo performance. Bots loves fresh content, one of that site may not get cached. Better to avoid duplicate content.
Yes, Sooner or later one or both of them would be deindexed. plus you may suffer drop in PR as a penalty.
Well, I totally disagree with some of guys here..Google will not be banned for duplicate content..Yes, it may effect on your ranking position..So it would be better to change add fresh, unique and quality content to site.
It's sure your 1site will be going to banned in Google. And second site will going to penalized by Google. If you want to Save Both site do 1think, Immediately Chane Content of both sites. Otherwise your site going to be black listed in Google.......
what is the difference if homepage is unique and inner pages are duplicate? how google reacts to this
If it is must for you to place the same content in the two sites then you can do 1 thing. You can hide any one of the sites from search engines by editing the settings. This way one site will be ranking in google and the other for some other purpose..
Basically, it is counterproductive to have multiple sites with exactly the same content, since it is likely that the search engines will filter out the content which they deem to be the duplicate. To test this, search for an article in iSnare which is at least a few months old, copy the first sentence and search for it in quotes in Google. You should notice that Google will only return a certain amount of results (assuming the article has been distributed to several sites) - the rest of the articles are filtered out since Google has figured out that they are duplicates. At the bottom of the first results page, Google will inform you that they have filtered out the duplicate pages. It's highly unlikely that you'll receive a penalty for duplicate content - not impossible, just highly unlikely, especially if it concerns only two sites. To get round this, you could spin the content, but make sure you spin it well and that the spinning software doesn't produce garbage. Software like Magic Article Rewriter does this job well, but you have to pay for it.
Hello Friend spideynumber01 If search engine will find same content then it will come late because search engine like updates so if search engine will not find any update then it will go without caching pages.
i think the word banned is a harsh term you site will not get banned but not rise in hte rankings as fast remember banned means it does not show up at all
