Hello Buddies, Need your help related with my domain. I checked my domain PR with result like this: without www = PR 4, with www = PR 2. 1. May I know how it happened? 2. How to make my PR 2 changed to be PR 4? Thanks for your help. BRgds,
Without domain given so it is hard to help. However, here is my assumption 1. This had happened because you have the links built toward 2 version of your site (with www and without www). Those links power has been divided and that's why you see those 2 version of your site has different PR. If you targeted only one version your site may have PR 5-6 already Who knows? 2. You can get this done by do 301 redirect from the domain with www version (PR2) to domain without www version (PR4). This redirect would transfer all the links power to your PR4 version. You seem to create backlinks for your site without 'www'... ample evidence of the same is the link to your site in your signature area here! No wonder your domain 'without www' has better PR! While making backlinking efforts, do take care to stick with either of the two format and do not use both. Regards, RightMan
Thanks for for your kind help, I will try your advice using 301 redirect. @RightMan .... I'll concentrate to make more link building to my www. On the other side, I still afraid my PR 4 will follow my PR 2....
I have set in my wordpress general setting without www, the result while I type with www in my browser, the page redirect to without www. Do I stil need make redirect 301....??? Thanks
Do you mean I have done a right way in my wordpress general setting and I don't need change my htaccess, is it right....??? thanks
Unfortunately with www and without www are accounted separately in SEO concern. And you are going to suffer a lot if same content is available on both www and no www.
May I know what do you mean with "suffer a lot if same content is available on both www and no www"..??? Thanks for your kind help...
If I were you, I would go with higher PR domain type. Do a permanent redirect (301) from http://www to http:// to point all your PR2 link juice to PR4.. who knows, you might get PR5 or more with this redirection. You can do this from Google webmaster tool http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=93633
