Hi, Im not sure of the purpose of this, but the 2 biggest industrys online (and also offline) are gambling (1st) and porn (2nd)
the idea here is to take the aggregate data from DP members and use it anonymously to see what industry makes the most and the best way to generate revenue for each industry. the idea was brought on by a recent study of the top 50 web properties, I thought we would all want to see how the rest of us are doing. I have received several pm's with information but not nearly enough yet to be statistically significant. please keep in mind that all data will be used for the study only, that I will display the results here on DP only and that I will erase any and all info that enters my possession the moment I complete the analysis
Maybe you should pay $$ to attract people to put aside their valuable time to contribute such detailed valuable information to your project. Such a diverse survey/ information compiled can be sold to MNC and big web consultancies for lots of $$. Other than that you will just get short replies and few would actually PM useful information you can use No offence but just been frank.
tradester: i get it. i dont want to sell the data, I only want to offer it to the entire community in a nice, clean and anonymous format. I am not asking for data that a webmaster would not give if they were selling teh website, so i was hoping for a better response. I hope you can see the benefits this could have for all of us.
Well if you want to do such a project do it in an open manner ..could setup simple blogspot or use SNS like facebook to gather feedback..Post yr questions and use survey tools available if it is done n open transparent manner people are more willing to contribute and share
the reason I am asking for anonymous data is because it tends to be more authentic. If its posted openly I will only get information from those trying to brag.
