Does anyone here use WordPress for an eCommerce site? How do you find it?

There are some great e-commerce Wordpress 100% working templates and themes on ThemeForest (see my signature). However, I never used Wordpress for e-commerce, there simply are better suited solutions (my favorite is Modx for CMS + Foxycart for cart and checkout). But for some smaller shop, Wordpress will probably work just fine.

IMO, you should not just reply on WP if you are planning to host ecommerce website as there are great chances and attempts of hacking.
Better develop your website and integrate SSL certificate for better representation.

I don't think this is a good idea. Better go with pro software for eCommerece. I bet you don't want one day all your c/cards to be blocked.

By wordpress you can get your money straight into paypal. Quick and short.

I haven't made it, but there is no reason for your c/c to get hacked and stuff. It is good way if you lack coding skills.

It is very important to make sure that you will not be hacked. Ask yourself - can you rely upon plugin developed by people whom you don't even know? What if they're just waiting for 2000 users to start using their plugin and as soon as it happens, they steal all credit cards and buy an island somewhere in Pacific Ocean?

P.S. Disregard my post. That's just my paranoia saying this.

Wordpress is a very authoritative site. If things happen like this, I doubt people will use it. Why are they using it? Cause they have earned the trust.
You are totally thinking like a fool. Please check before post things like that.

The WP e-Commerce shopping cart plugin for WordPress is an elegant easy to use fully featured shopping cart application suitable for selling your products, services, and or fees online.
WP e-Commerce is a Web 2.0 application designed with usability, aesthetics, and presentation in mind.

Hey, how did you read my post? Were you high while reading it (just kidding :D)?
I didn't say Wordpress would steal your money. I was mentioning any e-Commerce tools for Wordpress. There's always some risk, don't you think so? Some tools can be trusted but some don't.
And do you really believe that discretion is foolishness? Don't be rude and don't think you're the most clever ever, people usually don't like that and may reduce your reputation ;)

What is your programming experience level? Just tell me - is it very difficult to add some code which will send credit card details to the creator of this plugin? And if I have no any programming knowledge - how would I know about that?

I was also looking into this. Came across this site: http://www.instinct.co.nz/

Seems like a slick wordpress solution, you'd have to look into the security aspect yourself though to see if it suits your needs.

Hello, try searching the Wordpress.org plugin database, there are plenty of plugins that can make it easy for you to sell items on your Wordpress website. There are also themes to make it even easier. Just try searching Google.

Use a Datafeedr site. It utilizes WP and you don't have to take customer orders. It will show THOUSANDS of product "feeds" and when someone wants to buy, it will take them through the merchant site via CJ or ShareaSale, Pepperjam, etc.
