how do I know a site has a Fake Traffic?

How could I know is a domain have a fake traffic? Need your suggest how can I check this.

Ask the person to show you the AWSTATS. Also, if they've had an influx of traffic in a short time, that could mean that they're getting fake traffic.

It's not as accurate but you can get a general idea if someone is full of it or not by checking quantcast.com, no need to get their permission for this one.

 

I use Alexa and SERPs.
As you can see quite often here on DP, some people sell websites and claim to have traffic of 1k per day (from awstats) but Alexa is over 1m thus it's very inconsistent and suggests that it's fake traffic.
Basically, traffic comes from search engines and some people use Alexa, thus poor ranking and/or alexa suggest the traffic is fake.

 

Quantcast gives you an approx information about the competetor's traffic.

never believe someone show you the awstat statistics. It's easy to cheat and I can make thousands of fake hit to cheat awstats in 1 day. The best way is tell them to install google analytics or statcounter. It's very hard to cheat and I didn't find a way to cheat their system yet.

 

i think analytic is the best
