Hiii fellow seochat members, I hope you guys could help me on this.....

I have 4-5 month experience in SEO but in this time I worked really really hard learning seo browsing forums, reading blogs testing myself all 24 hours....Then I got a client.....He wanted me to work 5 days a week with 1 day each(three keywords) on one of his webpage, so I am lest with 1 day per week for each page...
His keywords are really competitive with 30, 000,000 search results and 409000 searches in february.
His domain is 14 years old and his domain is great from seo point of view also.
He had no ranking at all when I started work.and I followed the following strategies for him...

    1. article writing(daily 1 article for ezine), 80%approval rate)
    2.blog commenting(50% niche and 50% non-niche)
    3.forum posting(50% niche and 50% non-niche)
    4. Angela type links
    5. Social bookmarking...
    6.Yahoo answers..
    7. directory submission..
    8. two press releases..
    and some craiglist posting

After 6 weeks of this work he is on 3rd page for on of the subpage and 5th page for the main keyword.. and 13, 16, 18 for othersubpages keywords...
Since I am not that much experienced so I couldnt evaluate this progress made.
Yesterday he said yo me that if he cant see results in coming two weeks he will discontinue the project...

I am asking the senior members to please evaluate this progress since for 1 page of his website I had worked only 6 days till now according to the task distribution.
I know SEO is not magic so what you suggest for the next two weeks so that he can see some results.....
He is a good person and I really enjoy working with him....but I guess he is tight on budget so I want to give him results, please advise me on this

    Hi Gurvinder,
U can take the help of the best and high page rank places like squidoo, please make 2 squidoo lenses
with the right keywords and link them. Also write articles on ezinearticles, goarticles, hubpages and
post a 30 day ad on usfreeads.com and also post the website on many web2 sites like twitter, stumbleupon etc and blogger, wordpress and yahoo answers with the keywords and right backlinks, do it manually , it takes time , but gives permanent value to the customer and show him ur posts,
    Good luck!

For such comeptitive keywords, I'd say that you've done a very good job for starters (especially with less than 6 months experience in the field). Secondly, your client can't really expect front page SERPs after a few weeks work. For those knd of results, you really need a full time employee putting in lots of hours every day.

    I can only suggest:
1)Try to optimize all of his pages more
    2)Shift to 90% niche, 10% non-niche
3)Write more (closlely related) articles, with a link to a specific page of his site - make sure that the article is focused strongly on the particluar pages keywords
4)Pay two students minimum wage to forum post, blog comment, and social bookmark for a day or so

    Good luck

If you are good in on page than revise Meta for desired keywords, add fresh content and H tags with targeted keywords, make internal linking with the same keywords, these are some examples of on page take the help of google and revise his complete on page but remind one thing that do on page very carefully because sometimes by complete revision of on page old keywords get down ranking , other than this do Off page with relevant and quality sites only..

You may not like this answer, but most of what youv'e provided is going to be ineffective in regards to SEO. social bookmarking, forum posting, angela's links, directory submissions, etc, are all ways to drive traffic, but none are very good at boosting rankings.

You need one way, do follow links form quality pages with strong PR and few outbound links. You need to become active in your niche's community, and become friendly with bloggers who cover your topic. Try guest blogging, or offering bloggers discounts prices for free evaluations.

No, reciprocal links are greatly devalued by Google for SEO purposes. What you want is ONE WAY, do follow links on pages with strong PR and few outbound links.

So getting relevant one way backlink means contacting webmasters and requesting them to put my link into his website and not putting his website's link on my website... If thats right....

There are lot of different ways to gain one way backlinks, but the strategy you mention, cold contacting webmasters and asking them to link to you (for free) is not likely to get many positive responses.

You could try some of the following techniques, though.

RSS marketing - Build a RSS feed with quality, unique, useful content in it, providing more than just a sentence or two of text in each article, but making sure each article links back to you. Then market your RSS feed at the variouos RSS marketing sites, such as syndic8, feedburner, etc. People go there looking for free content that they can syndicate on sites of their own, and when they od, you get instant backlinks.

Article marketing - Post some very useful, unique content on sites like ezine articles and goarticles for people to syndicate on theri own sties. Make sure the articles contain one link back to your own site.

Blogpost Commenting - One of the easiest ways to acquire good backlinks. There are millions of blogs out there, and you can use google and a tool like SEQ Quake to find blogpost articles that have PR and that are do follow, and that are relevant to your own site. I try to add a couple of quality backlinks per day using this technique.

Paid Advertising - For competitive niches, I recommend both paid text links and paid blogposts on quality sites. Yes, there will be some 'made for advertising' sites you'll have to wade through to find the quality sites to advertise on, but text link advertising has been a fundamental seo technique for as long as there's been search engines.
