I have been testing these lately to see if they really have an impact from SEO, I am sure everyone has an opinion, but has anybody ranked or saw an increase in traffic from rss submissions lately? Seems like it would be easy to filter those out at Google. I mean who really goes out and looks at a directory for RSS feeds to subscribe to? Don't we all have enough information thrown in our face everyday?

But don't use pingomatic too often because the fact is that the services and the search engines might take it as a spam which can land your site into all sorts of trouble. Therefore over use of these kinds of services is highly discouraged.
