Has there been a new launch date announced for Google Caffeine and anyone know which IP address currently has Caffeine?
Caffeine was rolled out in november, and avaialble in select regions, however google for "how to trygoogle caffeine" will give you a method. Basically its a javascript that you run to enable it.
Can you provide a source for this statement because it is completely untrue. Caffeine is not javascript and you do not run anything. Caffeine is G's new infrastructure.
Caffeine was not rolled out in November and as of March 16th Matt cuts stated on his blog that caffeine is still only on one data center and that when it did roll out it would take months to complete.
They're obviously having problems with it. They even deactivated the subdomain they had it on so we could play with it.
My understanding is that they rolled it out to one data center prior to the holidays. Matt Cutts said the rest would be deployed after the first of the year, but I haven't seen anything since then. I'm wondering if the next PR update will also be a full Caffeine rollout.
There are lot of changes in terms of rankings and crawling. I've noticed this on one of my geo-target site there are like drops on rankings and slow in cache. On webmasterworld forum there is good thread about the Google caffeine roll out. Hope to see the changes after the PR update.
It's still accessible via IP addresses. And also its available now in 2 Datacenters not just one.. 209.* and 74.*
