Ofcourse, no doubt forum posting is good. DOnt ever stop it. Above all I would advice you to reply soon after you get any comment on your thread. By this the commentors are ware that you reply them quick. Some of admin here on handle this very nicely.
Forum posting is good for both traffic enhancement, credibility building, community relations and backlinks...
Forum posting is really good for free marketing using signature.. Its better if you build reputation first..
I have benefited doubly from forums...I have learnt so much more and have also got lots of people visiting my site.....thats the reason i love being a part of different forums..you get to know so many things
Thank you Lucilla, I'll try to give reply all but some of them comments are advisable and some of them not. lot of webmaster says back links are not usefull, why? I have some doubt here, what does means of reputation. yes, I got lot of knowledge from forums so i like it. if forums positing help with SEO then what is problem, why don't profitable greatly?
I like forums because the traffic comes as a result of helping others. I don't post unless there is something to contribute.
Well yes forums can generate traffic. They are also great for information and discovering great products. Forum links can generate a lot of traffic but some generate more than others. The bulk of my traffic is still generated through organic search, social bookmarking and twitter.
In terms of SEO, you'll need a link from variety of sources so you don't want to limit to forum only right? But I really like how you reply to everybody and I'm sure you are building great relationship with those people. This is actually first time to your thread, but I can already feel that you are trustworthy person.
Forums can be fun. Digital Point is probably one of the more popular active ones with something for almost everyone. Good tips, help, and everything in between.
If you're posting in related forums, it definitely does help. It also depends on the quality of your posts, how respected a member you are, when you joined and if you're signature looks spammy. Another important point to be made here is that it depends on what niche your working on. It works really well for gaming and movies.
See, if you're spending time or money on anything, you'd want an ROI in any form. Most people want a monetary ROI. From my experience, forum traffic doesn't convert that much UNLESS there's some review thread about some product going on. Now, THAT kind of traffic converts the best. So... YES, traffic from forum presence CAN be beneficial to you, provided you know HOW to use it. Unfortunately, many just look at the bogus numbers (traffic) and not the *real* ones (profits).
Oh, and I'd like to add: Apart from the direct traffic, you can make amazing relationships from forums that will pay off in the long run. Forums, seminars, communities, etc and pretty good for this. I've personally made several thousand dollars just from the forum traffic I've got.
I love forums. It has been my home for years of learning SEO. I agree that forums really helps us in every way.
Yes, I also like a forum posting, but I get disappointed at times when the forum moderator will just remove my post. Can you share some tips and advises how to avoid those kinds of incidents?
