    I know of the Google PR update but its serve no purpose for me as i don't care what my blog PR, its the revenue that matters for me.

    Is PR decided on the day of the update , or does it decide based upon months of research, e.g if i started a new website yesterday and it now has some really good quality PR5 and authority links , would it be possible for me to get a PR ?

    they update it in their bases, so they can put sites on priorities.. but they don't update it for public, only like this..
    so they already know what is our PR, maybe better, maybe worser :) but we don't

    intro pretty much got it right.

    PR is continually updated, but they export a simplified version of it to the toolbar once every 3 or 4 months. What they export is a snapshot of PR taken at an earlier point in time.
    Going by some of the observations made by members here at DP and other places, the day PR is exported to the toolbar, it can already be anywhere from one week to one month old.
