I wouldn't call it a difference because link baiting is practically a variation of SEO. It's content created in order to garner links. Frankly, “linkbaiting†sounds to me just like “being a good webmasterâ€. If we want our website to be considered worthwhile, then we need to add content to it that people want to link to naturally. So what do people link to naturally? Things that are informative / creative / controversial / combination / etc. Which is the description given these days to “linkbaitingâ€. I find it being the same as submitting quality articles with links. Actually these are the 2 methods almost everyone uses, link bait and directory submissions to free sites like easysubmits.com
