So that was you. Was looking at the 3DRips.com myself, same idea...didn't think about the plumbing though. Nice grab. Good luck with it!

Thanks again for replying IAIN !!! I have to sign off now...but would appreciate your thoughts on the sales potential of some of these names.I've learned through the years that 'just because I think something is good...means absolutely nothing.'

    Hi mate,

In my opinion those domains are not great, for the price of registering 300 domain names like that you could have spent the money better on a few really good premium 3D domains... Just my 2 cents.

My thoughts exactly, I would hunt around in the aftermarket, there are a lot of bargains around

i know it's hard on the eyes all, but here's what i think has a 'chance'

    3dCollegeGames (best of all)
    3dHighSchoolGames
    3dEntertainmentTv
    3dMovieExchange
    3dGamingOnline (nice chance here)

    ?? 3dFountainDrink ?? what happened here? ... haha .. it's 3DBRA all over again!:)

as the others have said, there are still some good names out there and as far as the aftermarket - godaddy auctions right now has Computers3d.com for $8 .. i'm not exactly all hot for it, but that $8 is probably better and safer than anything listed.. point being, youmight have to do a lot more legwork and waiting these days, but there are some goodies out there... best of luck
    - -

and i would love for someone to tell me their .US opinions...
... i just can't get enough these little critters.. i see SO much potential in the extension and it seems to be gaining in popularity and value.. please, if i am wrong, tell me so i stop buying them (seriously)... but i really do think there is some rising value in them ... .COM value, no, but what else is?

... Here is my complete .US collection in 3d (50 Names in total - Ones In Red Were Purchased Last Night)

    • 3D-SOFTWARE.US

as you can see, last night i targeted professions, careers and jobs... these are already existing markets and needs, and once / if / WHEN this whole 3d thing takes hold, someone would be very PROUD to have those names with the .US extension.... i ABSOLUTELY LOVE THESE!!!

Ironically, a handful of these names are even still available in the .NET, but to me anyway, they work better with the .US

    Your thoughts

Just curious why you would take a .US over .NET, everyone knows .NET is the 2nd best next after .COM...check .US sales and you will see what I mean, I dont just mean a few "big" isolated sales, I mean overall

I'm definitely not arguing that point - i happen to like the .NET extension too, but for the couple that were actually available, i liked the .US better ... something like "3DCAREERS.NET" or "3DCAREERS.US" ... i liked the .US better - it says what it is .. "3d CAREERS in THE US" - the extension seems to actually tell the story better with the .US ... and yes, the .NET MAY be worth more money, but once the money starts going up, the endusers and potential buyers become smaller and smaller...
... remember, i never said that all sales have to be 5 figure sales for them to be worth my time... that's the naysayers language, not mine... i believe two dot US's can still equal (and/or surpass) one .NET, with a little easier of a sale due to the lesser dollar amount... i'm also pretty sure that when looking at domain sales - the number that sells the MOST (not average sale) is around $350 - $400 ... this fits my .US nicely - PLUS, i see a rise in .US value coming (not facts to back this - my opinion)

I know not to trust in Estibot entirely, but with that same example (3dCareers) .. the .us is actually valued higher... it's a very small dollar amount that i see getting bigger in time, but still, i think the .US applies tot he name here.

    ..also...
... if you've noticed in some of my purchases, i have kept themes and category names that can all be bundled together for a nice quick sale if need be... this is also where i bought and why i bought about THIRTY 3D .INFO geo names(3DNY.info, 3DUK.info...etc..)... this COULD be sold as a bundle as well or used in development to create a nice ring.... as per my example above, it would be harder to get more interested buyers, but i think for a developer, my 30 pack bundle will bring in MUCH more revenue than the one dot net (or dot com for that matter) if all setup properly

I know my original comment makes you scratch your head, and very understandable, but this is basically true with a .ORG as well... some names work better and are valued better if paired with their proper extension.

I hope that was somewhat of a satisfactory answer :)

    Hotelxxx,
another bold move I should say. You should have gone with .net instead of worthless .us domains.

Thanks for replying re: 3dfountaindrinks .com (plural) Having been associated with the beverage business...the biggest profit center for all cola/non cola syrup... is in the fountain drinks.Consequently, the dollars spent by all 'pop'companies...on their syrup division (fountain drinks) is huge.Unless youth marketing has dramatically changed in the last 3 years, the first to begin advertising 3d on their fountain cups ,will be a 'step ahead' of the competition...and this is ,in addition to beer, the most competitive of industries.Being that essentially, all of my names are chosen for 'end users,'the relatively small price they will have to pay...for that advantage...is a no brainer in this industry. They spend more than that on 1,500 cardboard p.o.s. materials, which,if not thrown away by the salesman, will stay on display for an average of 3 days.Because of my beverage background,it isn't a matter of selling 3d fountaindrinks.com,but rather who to offer it to first, without alienating the other syrup divisions, most of which I had,and to a lesser degree, still have contact. The End. I may be a novice to the domain business...consequently,trying to learn all the time...but if you own that 3dbra you mentioned....I wish you luck on that one.
    I know nothing about the us extension,but I saw these 5 .info's...and what are your thoughts.3d4 3d6 3d7 3d8 3d9...all .info.

.. very well, thought out reply with a purpose and i guess you can never ask for more when hunting down domains... i liked your answer, especially the fact that you have been in that industry so long, you probably have a great connections to find a home for your domain ... nice job :)
