Duplicate content

Duplicate content – multiple URL with the same content and identical home page with the same content. The penalty applied to "duplicate" sites is that only the original version of the page gets listed in the search engine and the duplicates content don't get listed at all.i have just got a information from a discussion forum on the dupticate content and want to share with you.

If the same content can be accessed by multiple url are considered as duplicate content. Think that, you have a page on your blog, http://you.com/seo
but this content can be accessed with the url http://you.com/category/seo and also accessed with tag, archive, so these content will be counted as duplicate content. You can't set which one will get exposure, untill you take any action to "no index" to them.

 

There are lot of things that can generate duplicate content automatically in a website.
Managing them is a must to part in SEO.

I use zencart system, lots of duplicate content, headache of it, i think it will not affect rank, but it will decrease the index rate of google, is it?

 

The duplicate content issue is REAL, but the way it is inteprated is wrong! Google will not penalise you if you have the same content as another site, after all - you might by sharing a HOT breaking news story.

However, is 100 sites have the same story, Goole will not display all results in their results page as this is not very user friendly. Users of Google want to see a variety of contents not the same article over and over. Any questions on this feel free to shoot me a PM.

 

yes Google only consider original page not your duplicate page.. so don't do that.
