Here is a step by step method to get rid of low CPC ads using Competitive Ads Filter (A tool provided by Adsense). Here we go:

    Step 1

    Register with AdsBlackList, it’s free!

AdsBlackList is a site where you can generate blacklisted sites (MFA and Low Cost ads) that have been blacklisted by AdsBlackList member.

    Step 2

Go to “My Account” at the left sidebar, click “Add New Domain” then add your blog or website and your keywords.

    Step 3

Now click on “Generate Filter List” option.

    Step 4

You may see your domain at the Available Domains tab, drag it and drop it on “Keywords from selected domains” tab. Click on the Checkbox of the “MFA” or “LCPC” then click “Submit”. You will see a list of 200 MFA/Low Cost per Click blacklisted sites.

    Step 5

Block These Sites In your Adsense Account

Open your Adsense account, go “Adsense Setup” and choose “Competitive Ad Filter”. Scroll down and you’ll see this “Adsense for Content filters”. Simply copy the 200 MFA blacklisted sites and paste them into the box and click “Save Changes”.

You cannot get busted, because you are free to filter any ads you do not like!

Personally I filter only a couple of sites, because the ads appearing on my sites are quite relative and pay decent... But maybe this will work for those whose sites are not niche specific, like some general blogs.

This is not a kind of trick but it is still useful. This method could help reduce the huge time amount to filter some garbage ads from being displayed on your site, meaning your higher revenue. You may get this done by check each ads displayed by youself but it would consume a lot of time, although it is worth enough.

That is not a manipulation, it is a function made by google's adsense!
See, I have some really quality travel sites and I wont allow some f***** weight-loss ads to be displayed there, no matter how much they pay! The sites are about travel and excluding a couple of advertisers I have disallowed so far all the ads are about travel, I wanna keep it that way. Some of them might pay only few cents, but it is ok for me as long as they are related to my traffic/visitors which are quite travel aimed.
I myself cannot apply this "trick" as I really do not believe there are many low-paying advertisers in my niche, but it could work pretty well for other general or more niche-wide websites.

Although this is a "legal"w way of doing it, I would need some proofs taht it worked for someone. How can that blacklist site judge low paying ads ? How do they even know abt it when Google doesnt expose that feature? All this fears me that it just doesnt work.

From my understanding, sites are submitted to it, ie "reported" Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but it would be one of the few ways that it could be done. The problem is that the filter size you get is too small. I don't use adsblacklist because you could be wasting slots with ads that aren't appearing on your site. I would rather find the low-payers (it's pretty easy) that are actually showing up on my site and block them. Quite a while ago I did do some tests and the ePC was noticeable and statistically significant with the filter being actively used. Unfortunately it's a game of whack-a-mole.

    You are so lost.

You may end up wasting filtering on sites that would never appear on your sites to begin with.

There is so much BAD... VERY BAD advice in the Forums. From people with no real experience.
