I think it might be not a good idea to make such decision for Google.cn. In other word, they are still existing in China but now at HK. :)

This is a nice chance for Bing to pick up the 33% search market Google.cn used to occupy. :)

    All the best,

Obviously, it has been really difficult to many foreign countries to just stop and leave everything they have invested in China, since the recession period.

Good for Google, I despise their monopoly but at least they are sticking up for peoples rights against these control-freak communists dinosaurs.

    Well said. +rep

I appreciate the fact that Google is going to leave China. The local Chinese definitely do not have an idea what the right of speech and freedom of expression is! Even if there is Baidu and sogou, they will only provide filtered information to the Chinese.

I really wish that the Chinese could ever experience the kind of freedom of expression existing in the US, Asian nations such as India and various other parts of the world.

Quite frankly it is about time that someone stood-up to China, why not Google. The Chinese regime is to blame for countless counts of genocide on its own people as well as the peaceful Tibetans. I think once a company like Google pulls the plug, many others will and I gather that is what is happening. If China wants to take part on a world stage then it needs to show openess and things like firewalls and censorship demonstrate that this is a truely horrid regime, shame people from the inside and some brainwashed people on the outside cannot see it, a short walk through one or two of the refugee camps in India or Nepal might help!

    Thumbs up Google!

I think Microsoft and Twitter are wiser when comparing with Google on doing business. Such decision would also hurt google.com.hk in the near future, IMO. :)

    Thanks,

Finally, some sensible answer, However, its much beyond Google and China...Its about USA, all the time. All hacking is done by the CIA. They use false flag attack to control more life's of the American people and then the world.

They have connected power grid, water systems, traffic signals, gas systems to the internet ready to be hacked. Now all CIA needs to do is hack its own systems and blame it on iran and chinese hackers and then start another world war. Its all designed not natural.

They are building up for something big here. Just like they used alquada to blame 911 which they themselves did, now they will blame china or iran for all internet hacking problems.

By the way, did anyone notice April 10 2010 the day Google will leave china totals 8...The lucky number for the Chinese. Why would Google leave on a lucky day for the Chinese. Think guys, April 10 is a Saturday not Friday. Its part of a larger agenda. All major companies are owned by the Illuminati. we have no chance.

Some of the articles I have been reading on this suggest that google should stay within China. It is a diificult market to function within, as the history of google shows. However, it is a large market to ignore, or bypass. Shouldn't google be trying to find ways of working together with those in China that oppose them to find ways of functioning, which both parties can accept?

By not doing so, is google leaving a door open for competitors to try and take advanatage of?
