Reporter John Mattes of San Diego Fox 6 News sustained cracked ribs, bite wounds and cuts to his face during Tuesday's confrontation with the couple, identified by authorities as Assad "Sam" Suleiman, 36, and his wife, Rosa Amelia Barraza, 33.

This attack was recorded live on camera

The couple who attacked the Reporter were apprehended by the Police again all on live camera

    Quote

"Barraza, who during the confrontation threatened to get a gun, was booked for investigation of making a terrorist threat, displaying a deadly weapon, battery, and theft for allegedly stealing the cameraman's microphone, Christman said.

The lieutenant said Suleiman was booked for investigation of felony assault. Police Detective Gary Hassen said the pair posted bail Tuesday night. The case will be sent to the district attorney, police said."

    Bail Posted:mad:

How can this happen ............ the Police have all the evidence on camera ........... the couple are 'court bang to rights'

What is going on in San Diego with the Police or the Authorities.

This couple who made the attack were guilty beyond any doubt, they should be sent to prison without Bail prior to Trial by Jury

1.How come these people are free on Bail, to continue terrorising innocent people over an identity theft and real estate scam in the area?

    2. If you were the cameraman “Would you have put the camera down or kept shooting?”

Given the extent of the injuries inflicted on Mattes, it’s a pretty good question

    Any comments:- on Points 1 & 2

I saw the video. The reporting got a nice beating with nice brusing, he was a pussy and couldnt do anything but drop to the floor like a little girl.

When a woman tells you to get out of her face with the camera, you better do it or the husband will get crazy. I would of done the same if he was pissing off my wife.

These reporters wont get out of your damn face and the video prooves it. I mean sure its there job but thats what they get.

Actually, the reporter wasn't anywhere near the guys wife. The reporter was interviewing a possible victim of real estate fraud (At the vicitims residence), and the psycho lady drove up, got out of her car and started in on the reporter. The lady then, went to her car to find a gun but was unable to find it. Soon after, her husband drives up and starts pummeling the reporter.

I agree, the reporter should not have had his camera pointed at the lady. He should have used it to defend himself against that psychotic couple.

God forbid the cameraman drop the camera and help the guy

Bail has nothing to do with guilt or innocence..It has to do with wether they are a flight risk or not.

You would NEVER see someone being held without bail for an assault like this

I don't think it was right to assault the guy but I have to say I understand (The fact they are scammers makes you less sypathetic but I don't know all the facts)

I worked in a news station for a year and I ended up quiting after having to work with the reporters. I was made sick by seeing them push their way into peoples houses after they had lost a loved one or something similar. Maybe they had a relative commit a crime and for that they got a camera in their face when they had nothing to do with it.

I think seeing reporters in action would make most people sick

I agree with what you say about reporters, about all the facts, the video that was shown on the news .........................was either factual ....................or it was edited ................. but certainly what was shown to the viewers looked bad for the attackers

But was the video edited to get more eyeballs to the TV Screen?

That lady and her husband were pure examples of ignorance. Drive up and start beating a reporter in front of his own camera. Brilliant!
