Google left china because China hackers attacked the Google sites.

Actually Google does not leave China at all, it just redirect google.cn to google.com.hk, all services are same. If they can combined two domains together, i do not think they need two.

    So now what google got?

First, combined two domains together, they do not need two.
Second, their did not lose any Chinese customers, even pull many Chinese due to this event.
Third, they earn good fame internationally, because their action is as a hero.

No global company wants to lose Chinese market, such as Microsoft, do you think google is so stupid to leave China? Never think they are stupid, they can only do what benefit them.

sure... as far as I know there are no hackers in other countries :)D), and therefore google is in those countries? If there will be hacker attacks, google will leave those countries too? :)

You're from India? There are no hackers too, yes ? :)

China is a huge market, and I doubt that google will go away easily.

It is not a secret that China has very strict policies and known for suppressing freedom of speech. Im not surprised they suppress sites like google, twitter, facebook, etc

I am in China, china government ban google for 20minutes last sept (around there) , until now youtube and facebook and twitter is banned in china,
China government think he's too buff, wants to take over market,
Infact China has its own google called baidu.com which ranked 8th in alexa and 1st in China
and own youtube called youku.com alexa traffic rnk 49 and 11th in China
and own MSN (including messenger) called QQ.com ranked 10 alexa and 2nd in china (msn.com ranked 9th in alexa, so I am wondering if it'll take over msn)
and own yahoo called sina.com.cn ranked 14th in alexa and 3rd in china

I guess china is thinking their population can own worldwide.

The stats of the sites you have given are very interesting and outstanding. However you have to realise that these sites are popular only in China. However we cannot compare these sites with the sites like google or any other sites which are running on a global / international basis.

So even if we do have these sites, somewhere or the other we also have lost something by not able to accessing the freedom what all the rest of the world is enjoying now.

I think one of the reason was cuz of China's really strict laws and policies on freedom of speech, they really love to censor and hide things they don't want citizens to know about. Like for instance, the Tianamen Square incident, where there was a protest of college students, and the Chinese gov't brought in the army and they actually started shooting at them and resulted in deaths and injuries.

That Tianamen Square incident can be found all over Google in our countries, or most countries like Canada for me and USA. But if you were to be in China right now, using Google.cn there's probably no results for that search anywhere on their version of Google. I remember in high school we'd have a Chinese transfer student from well...China. In Social Studies we'd talk about the massacre of the college students, and I remember perfectly how that transfer student looked at us like we were crazy, having never heard of it before. Most of the younger Chinese citizens these days probably don't know much about these certain events and happenings that China doesn't want the citizens to know.

But yeah, I think Google doesn't want to deal with censoring their search results anymore.

Maybe they don't want Foreign megacorporations controlling critical Chinese systems. Can't blame them.

Here is what is likely to happen in countries where they let Google (Or any other evil corporation) in. Google creeps in, slowly controls everything important, and then makes everyone dance to their tune.

Actually, nobody knows the exact reason. By the way,one has his own choice to do or not to do.There is no need to have a reason.

as a chinese,i think the reason is not easy to Analysis, because of the lack of data for individual.but i just know the fact that most chinese like to use baidu most, and i am one of them.baidu is more suitable for Chinese people.may be google will never understand why we like baidu.
instead of the reason that govenment help baidu, one reason i think is about the research reasult
Actually three are A lot of false information on China appearing on Internet all over the world, which is Contrary to morality and should be Shielded.
chinese people love peace, love fair, love people all the world
