You can easily request a human review after the fact though...Surely people aren't proposing Google hand review every single account. Your commision would be like .0001% in order to pay for that kind of service.

Every so often google figure out a new way to spot fraudsters. They then apply the new algorithm retrospectively and ban people who broke the TOS months or even years ago.

Right on! As the algorithm gets better, it will make the life of normal publishers easier.

It makes no sense WHATSOEVER. Why ban a guy and take his hypothetical $100 dollars when a decent publisher would bring thousands over the lifetime of an account?

Well it's hardly a spree. But I was banned too. I'm still scratching my head as to why. The DP rev share thing is the only possible reason I can see for my banning, I dont have any MFA, I dont click on my own ads, my logs dont show any queer activity. I posted a thread a couple days back with more details.

And The_Fox, I would stop talking before you dig your hole any deeper mate.

I was wondering if the AdWords Representatives has to do something with this. I found on Orkut a few people who are AdWord/AdSense reps for Google - it seems that they are supposed to ban a few "fraud " people every month.
Why dont we talk about the banning criterias of Google rather than crying over the spilt milk?
Isnt this a topic for debate?

Why would Google want to ban X amount of publishers every month?

As an Adwords advertiser, of course I want the highest quality clicks possibe. Not clicks from an internet cafe from someone trying to increase their own revenue.

I think Google tries to do what is best for the advertisers and publishers. But at times this can be a very "tight rope" to walk, and sometimes backlash to "good" publishers.

The same happens in Adwords to give Google searchers a better experience, many affiliates cried that Google was out to get them. This is not the case. Google is out to get any low quality landing pages. There are simple solutions, but it does require work.

At the same time, Google's algo's are not always perfect, and some of my relevant pages have never made it "back in"...mostly because google simply can not "understand" certain phrases...especially if they are "new" phrases.

Overall, many of the changes Google makes has been positive for me, as many of my competitors "disappear" and won't be back...or will only be back once they decide to provide "value"...this "value" may be to Adwords advertisers, or Google searchers.

Since the beggining of time, hasn't the survival of any business been about providing value?

Yes...there are anomalies...and errors...but the crux of successful business has always been...and always will be... the same: Provide a product or service of value.
