Since IE9 won't be out for two more years, how can you say that? And, since Microsoft has given some clues as to what it won't support, IE9 won't be any better than other browsers were 3 years ago. So how can you say it would be good?

(We won't hear from him anymore.)

Wonder how much inertia there is in the IE9 development team, and how that is preventing them completely branching away from the past. MS tried desperately to turn the internet and IE into their own little universe, but failed to impose their standards on a system that wasn't willing to accept them nor in need of them, at least not for a price. IE9 would be a great opportunity to break with this and get back to the idea of 100% compliance with standards so their browsers ... actually work. I somehow doubt they'll be able to shake of years of going their own way and bring out a compliant browser ... at least not now (that'd be like saying "we're wrong", and they don't have a habit of doing that).

On a side note - the proponents of "IE is a security problem" shouldn't ignore that that's partly because it was such a dominant soft on such a large proportion of installed OSes. Firefox is rapidly reaching parity - I wonder how long before it too becomes a fashionable target?

The target is the operating system, not the browser. The idea is to find the easiest entry point. IE is easier.

Hopefully it will be more compliant, but I'm not holding my breath, and haven't been ever since IE6.

Do web designers a favour and switch to any other browser. Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari.. I don't care, just leave IE.

I don't really interested with IE. But I hope this browser could achieve features that Firefox or Chrome has.

Didn't try it yet...but will see how better it is from previous versions. I am okay with firefox though. Need to use IE only with the sites that are still sticking with the retro styles (compatible with IE only)..

I can't opine yet. Thoug I like Internet Explorer, it's more likely the preview or beta release comes plenty of bugs as it has come IE6, IE7 and IE8 Betas.
