Don't have permission to access files folder (apache)

    hello i keep getting this message:

    Forbidden
    You don't have permission to access /files/cstrike/maps/ on this server.
    
    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. 
    Apache/1.3.33 Server at www.quantumxgamers.com Port 80
    Code (markup):
    i fixed my permissions from file manager at godaddy.com i check the boxes to enable permissions go back and check, but it resets to it's orginal order. I have cookies enabled on firefox

    You're going to have to login as root and change the permissions.

    If you are using a shared hosting plan with GoDaddy, you are going to have to contact them and ask them to change the permissions on the folder/files to your account.

    Do you have an index.php|htm|html file in this folder? If not, it's possible that .htaccess is blocking directory indexing. Look in your root web folder and files/cstrike/maps folders for .htaccess files and in them look if you can find this option:

    If so, remove them and see if this solves the issue. If it's a server-wide default to not show directory indexes, add this to your .htaccess file:

    Go to the www /root folder and check permissions.
