Oh yeah, I'd host my site with those guys.

They're not even that good at it. They should be loading their links with the title="keywords" attribute at least.

Is it BH? No (IMHO). It's sleazy, but I would not consider it BH. Eventually they'll get nailed. And then they're gone. . .

It seems like a grey one for me. Those links have been hidden via css but it is still a common link. How different if those links were appearance or not? It seems like they are trying to hide those link from being seen by human (or Google staff) only. If all those sites are garbage then this kind of link woudl be worthless either.

Tom-advertiser's responses is right on. All it takes is a competitor to submit a spamreport @google.com in which a black hat seo'd website is reported and then removed from the database of google.com.

yes, for sure this kind of linking technique is on the borderline of blackhat and grey
But the most disgusting is when someone does it without the knowledge of the other webmaster

I'd never do anything that would even look like greyhat. If Google got onto it then you're a dead man

Can't imagine that the links would be considered of much value by Google, and having invisible links might get the sites they're on penalized. Doesn't seem like it would be worth it.

There is a very thin line between a Black hat and White hat seo techniques.
As far as Google is concern, we really can't understand which is a BH and which is WH as google says it does not promote reciprocal links and do not aknowledge them, still i find lot of my competitors are practising it and still getting better results in serps without getting penalized.

Surely it's only a matter of time until they're found out. Personally I wouldn't use blackhat techniques, they are only useful for short term gains and may render a site unrankable ever again. But then that's the risk you take I guess.
