    hello!

I have a wordpress site whit a custom theme, its indexed good by google and also receive traffic for specific keywords!

but i have another site with a different wordpress theme, its not good indexed by google and dont receive traffic!

So, I am thinking that the Theme is affecting SEO... because all other seo things are same in both sites!

EDIT: May be first theme has good built-in seo keywords etc
I am newbie in seo :(

I am no expert on themes but I have read that the internal structure of the WP themes have an effect on SEO such as tittle tag, meta tags. Also a clean background with no that much stuff may be better than a theme with too much stuff that have like too many different colors, images all over the place.

Yes, there are certain themes that are more seo friendly than others. For example, the thesis theme is very seo friendly. But, to be honest, at the end of the day, it's all about content and getting links. I don't think that a theme will allow you to trump your competitors. Maybe for a minimal keyword.

    Cheers

No, themes have no effect. There is nothing in onsite optimization that tells you you need a pretty theme. Unless your asking if certain elements like alt tags for images count, then yes.

    Don't confuse indexation with optimization.

To receive real traffic from google you have to choose some keywords and optimize for them. Get links from similar wbesites with the keyword in anchor.

The theme has to do with seo, but if things are done right, title tag, description, h1 tag for article title, etc, you don't have to worry.

Wordpress in general is SEO friendly. Being said that, there are some themes that helps you building a SEO optimized site, expecially if you are new to SEO and site developing, because they make you put in the right way h1 tags, titles, descriptions and so on.

Provided you do things right with keywords and backlinks, I don't think a theme can really make a difference, however I heard (and I cannot confirm if that is true) that some themes are "heavier" than others, what makes them being less welcoming when a bot comes for a visit. And as we know, a guest must always be welcomed well ! =D
