Hi DP member, I am very confuse on dofollow and nofollow for article marketing. If you see this link : http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1560303, here has line to point no. 3 - "put that article on EZA, after it approves it (or if you're lazy go with articlesbase) put the same article on 10 more article directories. make sure they are dofollow (go to google and search for a 'nofollow plugin')" has mention dofollow and nofollow. Whats are meaning here the dofollow and nofollow? For article marketing have any important the dofollow and nofollow?
do-follow means the link will count and pass PR to your page. No-follow means that the search engines will not follow the link or pass page rank. You should try to always get do-follow links.
NoFollow and DoFollow links Every Hyperlink is either DoFollow ( the default ) or NoFollow. A nofollow links looks identical to human visitors, but gives a message to search engine bots, who rely a lot on backlinks for ranking factors, that we are not recommending this website to give it advantage of our reputation. Thus search engines may index the destination page but do not count the backlink or affect its ranking. DoFollow Articles Directories Submitting your articles in articles directories brings you two types of traffic . 1. Visitors of those articles click your link and come to your website, called direct targeted traffic. 2. If the link is dofollow, with a lot of quality content around it, it counts as a nice backlink and boost your rankings and brings you more search traffic. Some aritcle directories makes all their external links as nofollow while some of them make them dofollow. the nofollow ones gives you only direct traffic, while the dofollow ones give you both advantages. Hope it helps a lot. Say thanks : ) Regards Parul Sharma
thanks to all for replying. So will I be sure that my external links as nofollow while some of them make them dofollow? How to check that? please response. Thanks & Regards Sudip Samanta
To add nofollow or do follow in a tag simply add rel="nofollow" or rel="dofollow" ( or left it as it is so that default setting will work.) in the <a > tag of the link See a link is dofollow or no follow, use NoDoFollow or Quirk Plugin for firefox.
Hi psharma, Thanks for your reply. All article directories and web 2.0 sites are allow dofollow or nofollow link?
It depend on the specific website. for example Digital Point forum signature links and other links are all DoFollow. but some other competetor forums have them NoFollow. So it depends completely on the website, check the links via the plugins i quoted.
Thanks, I have understood the problem. So basically when I will post my article to article directories or web 2.0 site before will check that the specific website all links are dofollow or nofollow using the firefox plugin(above you have mentioned). Am i right?
