Articles Per Day

I write small reviews about 200-300 words each for my site. I do it almost every day, sometimes 3-4 reviews per week. So the question is: Is it enough for a decent SEO? Should I increase it and how much? How often do you submit content on your site?
And one more similar question: I see many websites that are not intended to provide any useful content except the ability to buy something from it. Are these sites have much less advantages in SEO than those who are full of articles and other text?

Quantity won't bring you more traffic, SEO will, especially if it's a blog

200 to 300 words is not enough for seo purpose, unless each review attracts a lot of comments. You may want to increase it to 400 words, with enough keyword density.

Quality and content is king even when trying to rank in the search engines. I've read that a blog article should only be as long as it needs to be. So, I've seen 177 word articles rank #1 in Google because of the content offered in their article.

It really depends on what you want to achieve with your site. You should first do some keyword research to figure out which keywords to rank for and start from there. Since there are thousands of possibilities when it comes to keywords, I suggest that you write at least 1 article per day if you want to see good results. And also link building and onpage SEO is important. Just because you put up tons of content doesn't mean it's gonna rank and get traffic from the search engines.

I churn out about 2 articles per day, that seems to keep google happy.

If quality taken into consideration, for my blog I can write/churn around 2-3 articles. That is if I work on it for 2-3 hours, rest is for link building :p

Quantity is good for general traffic which can come from long phrases but if you are looking to optimize for a particular keyword then you need to write seo articles. Seo articles are completely different and need some skills to write. For example the paragraphs starting word, ending word, keyword density everything is focussed in seo articles. But I have oveserved that seo articles are not really user friendly but are search engine friendly. First see whom you are targeting, search engines or Users? If you are a already established blogger then no need of seo articles because the visitors will come any how.

It's all very well scoring well in the search rankings, but without quality content to catch and hold the attention of you readers - and better still make them want to revisit your site - is your site likely to achieve its objective? Posting short articles worth reading will be more valuable to you than a voluminous alternative.

Totally agree with copywrighter! Write content readers actually want to read. Even if you are optimizing on page for SEO, still make it conversational and engaging.

Consider writing 2 articles per day for your blog, and 1 or 2 to submit to article directories with a resource box pointing back to your blog. If you haven't already, create a template that makes your writing faster. With templates, I can usually extend a 200 word review to 400 words quite easily without adding fluff or filler information. Instead of posting 3-4 reviews per day, try about 2 per day and focus more on getting links back to your site from other sources (like article directories). Hope this helps.

I meant 3-4 articles per week, not per day. I have insufficient time for that because I have an office job also. I wonder how you manage to write 1-2 articles per day and besides that optimise your website for SE...
