I feel awful for asking this but I have never been paid for any work that I have done on the internet before, if someone asks about your paypal account details, what do you actually give them. How do I make sure that I keep safe. Tanya.
what else to give other than paypal id ? lol make sure you go to paypal only by typing it. check for security lock pad in the browser status (firefox) make sure the computer you are using doesnt have keyloggers running behind. (antivirus)
Beside creating Paypal account, you should create 2 type of accounts. 1. Personal - This would be the best to receive paid funds direct from Paypal funds, No Credit Card 2. Business - This would be the best to receive paid funds from Paypal credit cards. Do not forget to get all your accounts verified. It could help increase a chance to buyer to send you a fund.
Just give them your Paypal ID, but be sure to check out paypal regarding the various fees that they charge. My recollection is if someone pays you with an echeck, Paypal takes a $5.00 cut, the fees for credit card payments vary...I think they are around 2.5%-3%. They probably aren't the cheapest payment processor, but certainly reputable and easy to work with.
well you are pretty safe if you are using paypal. If somebody is asking for account details this means your pp email adress in most cases so this is really nothing to protect. You won't get spammed and payments have to be authoriesed from you so the risk of loosing money is not that high. The risk you get scammed because people are not paying you is way higher
You will give them your e-mail address that you're using to login to your paypal account or any e-mail address that are listed on your paypal account. That is usually the buyer is asking if they want to send the payment to your paypal account. To get the money from paypal to you is a different story, You need to have a verified account for you to be able to withdraw the money from paypal.
You can always send them an invoice from your Paypal account. This way you know exactly what you are getting from them, and avoid any confusion on their end.
Thank you so much for taking the time out to help me. I really do appreciate this, as I am very new and still a little nervous. Tanya.
I was a newbie once. When early buyer asked for my Paypal account details, i was also uncertain as to what he wanted. Cos when someone says "account details" you think it means many details like account no, account name etc but in case of Paypal it simply means the email you use for your Paypal account. So you only need to give your paypal email. Yes, it is safe to give email cos i am sure you wouldn't mind people paying lots of money into your account
