    Dearly beloved DP members,

I haven't been active much on DP before, alltough i did read many articles about SEO and Google PR when i started my poker related site about a year ago.

I hope anyone can give me some advice about improving my site's score on Google's PR, see, after al this time my site is still PR ZERO, and i believe i'm doing / did something terribly wrong, but i can't seem to figure out what it is.

I appreciate any comment / information regarding any improvements i possibly could make to my site.

btw : On some google qeuries, i do come up in first (or at least top 5 position). Is that possible even for a PR0?

    Thanks a bunch,

    Peter

I think, you have to give more quality backlinks to your site, these are just 79 from from few domains only.
Also, as concern with the page rank and your top ranking that is called SERPs is entirely different thing. Its also possible to get top position in the SERPs while you have zero PR.

don't get obsessed with PR..its just a small algo in ranking method...a site with pr3 can hav a better rank over a site with pr5...so concentrate on getting high quality relevant backlinks from trusted sources with anchor text as ur keyword

Haha, that is funny, it's exaclty one year after my original post.

Still PR Zero. I did some post on Digg and Stumble etc. I also build a RSS feed and submitted it to multiple RSS directories...but nothing helped me increase my PR as you can see. Any comments would still be greatly appreciated.

That is a good point. I also noticed that you have a lot of shared content. That could be a factor as well. Also, Google is pretty tough on gambling sites...good luck

But again, don't chase PR just for the sake of having it. PR in it self will not get you rankings. I've seen flash only, SEO-wise undeveloped websites with PR4 that don't rank for a single keyword.

Google Page Rank has nothing to do with Ranking in Google I have seen so many site with zero PR and Still performing well in SERP. Still if you are looking for PR get back link from high page rank site (One way back link is always good)

Well, I wouldn't take it as far as saying "nothing to do with ranking", it definitely plays a role in the equation. But it isn't the holly grail a lot of people think it is. I have also seen sites with a lower PR and all other things equal, rank higher than others with a higher PR. It is the 'magic of Google' rankings. We will never completely understand them.

P.S. I like the way you think tata_capl
