    don't get married! :p

there are many things.depends on how much your willing to spend and how big you want it.

you could call 5 people and tell them it's held at city hall and after meet at the park for pot luck and BYOB. :D

Food, clothing and shelter are all basic necessities of life. You can choose to rent a wedding dress instead of buying a dress

Set everything up yourself and shop......at my 3rd wedding we decorated the hall for the reception...you can rent plants and small trees.....
We also had a cash bar...friends really don't mind and you save a ton of money....

Firstly, I think you should look up at yourself first whether you financial already stable or not. If not stable, it's better not to plan about marry because you will get headache to support other person.

I suggest you to save about 50%-70% of you income about 1 year and after 1 year I can guarantee you will have enough money for your cost of wedding.

Only spend money on stuff which will be useful for you and your life partner in the future, like do not spend your money on feeding your guests and fancy lighting at your home on your wedding night and only invite guests who are really close to you and your bride.
If somebody asks you latter why you had such a cheap wedding just reply them that you didn't have time for any arrangements because you were busy in your business.

Go cheap on the wedding and put your money into the honeymoon or your new home together. You will remember and appreciate that more.

I would suggest just eloping. But, if you have your heart set on a traditional wedding there are several ways to save money. The most obvious is to limit the number of guests. As someone else suggested, rent your gown or watch for the big bridal sales that salons are always having in order to get rid of returned and discontinued gowns. Make silk flower center pieces yourself and have your bridesmaids over for a craft party....you can all make silk flower bouquets to carry. Ask a close friend or family member who is a good baker to make your cake as a wedding gift to you. For a summer wedding you can do what our friends did - they rented a pavilion at a local park and had the reception there. Maybe instead of a full sit down meal, you have a cocktail reception. Basically, don't pay someone to do what you can do yourself and don't get carried away. A big lavish wedding is great fun - as long as you are not the one paying for it. Save your money so you can start your new life in the black.

You can save a lot of money by planning your wedding well in advance..trust me on this..it worked for me..when you have lot of time on your hands, you can plan well.....also using old wedding gown (mom's or granny's) is now in fashion...try it..Good Luck for your wedding
