Hey guys, does anyone have a link to an absolute beginners guide to PR ? There are so many blog articles etc out there but im struggling to find a starter guide that explains how to get backlinks and what have you. Thanks in advance :]

I'm not so happy... seems my pr went from a pr4 down to a pr0 on my webmaster forum (in signature) and I just cant seem to figure out why this happened..? I mean the site get 40k+ uniques a month and has nearly 1/2 million posts. :S

Any of you know why my sites pr dropped from a pr4 to a pr0?

 

Your traffic does not rely on your PR, vice versa..

PR last got updated during New Years Eve.

 

Dont wait for PR its a like a surprise from google. Some time they give fast and some times they forget to give PR

 

Dir. submission or any whitehat link building strategy can't be exact reason for this. It is possible that the pagerank of your backlink may have decreased and that had affected yours.

 

To everybody in this thread: Do not focus on PR. Work on the contents of your website and PR will come naturally. I once built a website and had lots of content in it. Two months later the website had a PR of 3 - without any backlinks at all. I repeat: Do not focus on PR.

Nice forum there. I have no real reason but the only possibility is that Google looks the links (to other forums) at your siggy as sitewide links selling eventhough personally i don't see any problem in your case as its texts. Maybe you can try to remove them and ask for resubmission to Google asap for PR reconsideration just in time for the next upcoming PR update?

 

i think that this pr will be tough, now you have to work hard to achieve a good pr.

 

Hi all, wanna share about my blog :
3 months ago, the PR drop from PR2 to PR0. I try to do some SEO and decrease some outlinks from it but still PR0. Some of friend said that, I better leave it. It's better to develop new one to gain PR2 or more then tweak the drop one...

Any comment or suggestion ?? Thanks

 

We all admit that PR is a dead man walking but on the other hand we all love to talk about it.. I personally am looking forward to seeing what happens when the next PR update is rolled out. Traffic is the most important function in generating income but a high PR site does help with things like getting indexed quicker and building backlinks. My fingers are crossed.

 

Never worried about PR. I always like to look at my profits instead, these numbers pleasure my ego much more

it all depend upon content in your related topics against your domain name

 

Pr is good for resale. Profit is better for my pocket.

 

Google pagerank has started.. I have been updated from pr3 to pr4.
