I made new website (kinda different way of marketing) where people buy bytes so that they can upload their products on site and advertise it. I'm aiming on new software developers, musicians... and old ones. Where to find that kind of people.
better market about your site in social networking sites. then you will find lots of people to advertise their product.
Wow! What a great Idea. I would suggest you to use DigitalPoint marketplace itself for initial publicity. you may also run a promotional contest.
DP is a great place to start, but I would also look at other active forums that have software developers, musicians etc. Just google musician forums or software developers forums and you should find some great resources.
You may try Google AdWords to promote your site and attract new visitors. Try to write articles in blogs.
I have tried with Press Release - nothing. I tried contacting some programmers but most of them were uninterested. I don't know what else should I try
just because you contacted several programmers is no reason to throw in the towel. If you do some keyword checking I'm sure you can come up with many long-tailed search terms. Take your list to Google or Yahoo paid search and do some lowball pay-per-click (.10 to .25 cents).
Picking the correct keywords that convert and getting them to rank can do wonders. as fhs3 said long tail keywords in a PPC campaign may be the way to get some instant traffic. When I did a site launch before I knew how to do proper keyword research I would launch a PPC campaign to find converting keywords while I was wating for my site to rank in the SERPs then I would drop the PPC once I was getting organing traffic. Now I am all organic. There are many ways to develop traffic ... Try some social bookmark but research first ... Try joining forums where you can market/softsell your site or product
I think that keywords are not quite important for my site. I don't think that people will search what I offer.
