    I dont disagree with any of your points but some of them are only relevant to certain types of sites
    Your 1st couple of points
    "Update it daily
    - keep adding new and unique content regularly"

    I have heard this over and over again and its true if you have a blog oe review site or something
    But if you have simple brochure sites or landing page sites it ain much help
    I have designed a couple of sites in the past for the likes of beauty salon and satellite installation businesses
    You cant update those sites regularly as these is nothing to update
    Other traffic generation systems you here about our also out

    Yes, correct but adding a blog to type of sites you mentioned above and updating that blog on regular basis like once a week if not daily will help letting the search engine know that site is still active, also it will help letting the customers know what latest your business have to offer or even chosen success stories regarding a business.

    Your points are very valid and as you said the growth of traffic is long and tedious process.

    So the tip for newbies out there is to build your websites in the niches you feel comfortable about.
    If you don't like your niche you will abandon the site sooner or later before the traffic comes.

    Yes, the tips are good in general but you have to adjust your approach to the characteristics of your sites and products. Only about half of my sites can use methods which are similar to each other; the others are too different to use the same methods. A site which is selling something generic to the general public needs only loosely targeted ads, while another site has one product for people with specific training so it has only very specific keywords ads. Another site sells a 200-hundred-pound accessory for a device which requires its own building, so that needs SEO effort so manufacturers can find the device, and highly targeted ads (and snail mail) for the direct customers, but also loosely targeted ads to promote the end product.

    @swimFinn: Yes things may very much vary site to site, in some cases you don't even have to update, users may take care of adding new stuff, but still you can provide new content etc. What I didn't understand is how ads are related to info i am giving in my original post.

    I mentioned more than ads. Some of the "methods" which my sites include what you listed, but not all methods are applicable to all sites. Right now I have one site for which only social network methods are proper because it's too specialized for anything else. But most of my sites are using some of your methods, although not all the methods are appropriate for all the sites.

    It's definitely ONE way to start a new website, and thanks for getting your ideas down so everyone can learn from them. Personally I sit down and plan my project first... then take action on it... I don't follow the same template time and time again unless my project is a process I want to outsource. I find different projects require different execution points and if you try and fit one process around different projects you'll be working against the grain.

    @SwimFinn: Ok, got your poing!
    @WpMarketingNews: It is always required to plan a new project and some research about how successful it will be is obvious, what my post focuses is that in beginning you may not have good number of traffic and good earnings, but the key is to keep yourself consistent in terms of adding content, no matter what happens.
