hi I'm using Mybb forum and have added google adsense in the header and in the footer of my forum. The ads are displaying on every page; the problem is that i have a thread that has links to megaupload and raphidshare for downloading PSP games i know that might be violation of the adsense TOS so i want to know that is there a way to block adsense on that certain Thread ONLY? Thank you!

you can write some php code, so that if the words megaupload or rapishare is found on page then not to display adsense code

Uh, you might wish to reread the original post. Your response has absolutely nothing to do with the question asked. OP...I'm not sure where the line is drawn, but the Google Policies indicate that "Sites with Google ads may not include or link to..." To me, the term Sites is important, they don't say Pages, but rather indicate the entire Site.

I've never really run into a situation myself where I had one page on a site that would violate TOS/Policies so I'm not sure how much teeth the distinction between Site and Page has, but I do find it interesting that they used that term. I guess that's why, with Adsense, I've always made sure to stay out of the gray areas lol

hmmm now that's confusing. So what would you do if you were facing the same situation? Delete the whole Thread or find a way to block adsense on that certain thread?

Depends upon how integral to the site the thread is. Is it just a spurious posting or are there several of that nature that pop up? Does the site cater to that type of topic?

If the thread started by member I think it doesn't violate google adsense TOS, except you started the thread...CMIIW

The theard is not what the whole forum is about. Its like an add-on like one would add a tale in their Limo (that was the example i could come up with lol) anyway meaning that the forum can go on and be happy even without the PSP games thread.

I don't think it matters a whit whether the owner or a member starts the thread. Content and links are Content and links. The TOS specifically states that you (the Adsense account owner) are responsible for making sure that the sites your code is on conform to TOS and Policies. Unlike many on this forum, I have usually had pretty good luck in getting a personal response from the Adsense team. You may wish to try that route and contact them but, as they say, your mileage may vary.

There may be a Mod available for your forum software that will handle ads with more versatility that just header/footer. I use SMF forum software, and the ads mod allows me to put the ads where I want, when I want. You can even put the ads between posts. See the forum link in my sig for examples.
