LOL. Are you sleeping and not reading the threads in this forum? DMOZ has a very high tolerance and in fact encourage and protects the abuse and corruption when it is committed by the "senior" editors and their assistances.
AFAIK, ODP doesn't ban listable sites, even if found to be bribing editors. Fortunately, the type of people that attempt to bribe editors don't make websites that ODP wants to list.
Scarcely. The offence here is attempting to bribe an editor. As it says here: http://dmoz.org/guidelines/conflict.html
I assure you that it does. Ask a meta. Or do a search of the internal forum. I don't know how you have managed to miss this Ishfish, though admittedly offering bribes is actually pretty rare. No-one has ever offered me one.
Neb, made a fool of himself after he was presented with the evidence and had to run away, would you like to give it a try and explain why editors who abuse the directory year after year, still are editors.
No he didn't at DMOZ your guilty until proven innocent which you can't since your not allowed do defended yourself - lot of Kafka fans amongst senior staff.
Spot on, Ivan. The ODP is a Kafkaesque universe. When you scratch the surface, you get a glimpse of the Absurd. I'd be willing to pay a nickel to see my sites listed, but not more. ^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^ Corrupt editor bait Will my two listings be removed and my sites banned now??? I offered a WHOLE NICKEL!!!! Anybody willing to risk it all, and bid a huge, colossal DIME??? Let's test how much you have to offer before they ban your sites! Aren't you curious? I know you're curious. There must be a dollar and cent amount where they know you're joking, and if you go above it, they think you're serious. What if the rest of the post is completely goofy, and you only want to make fun of banning editor sites because they make a post offering money for a listing? What do you do, then? Don't you see how ridiculous this is? Why don't all get the editors get together and list one website today, instead of banning the sites of a few forum clowns?
I have asked a meta, and was assured that listable sites are not banned from being listed for any reason. I could have been lied to, but I doubt it. Anyway, if ODP bans good sites that users want to see, isn't that a disservice to their users? Shouldn't ODP list all sites if their purpose is to try to provide a resource for web searchers?
That sounds about right. LOL. FYI, you might want to read this: SEOmoz - Getting a Link from DMOZ Isn't Worth What It Once Was
I think that is quite possible. I just become an editor, and believe me, I would list any good site "the moment" I see it. And I actually did it.
