Page Rank is dependant on the quality of backlinks and there is no real indication of when your Page Rank will be updated if at all.

Quantity doesn't matter quality matters. Although its strange that even with so much backlinks with pr0- pr7 you didn't get any pr.

Isn't PR about number of google backlinks?

Honestly speaking, I have never found the most accurate explanation to PR changes and how they are affected and I don't think getting plenty of backlinks from high PR sites always work as it didn't at least in my case. Instead, I lost my very good PR. So, PR may be the result of several factors affecting a site's traffic-it can be frequent updates, good backlinks (that doesn't always mean "many" backlinks as I mentioned earlier) and of course good and original content.

Has the traffic from search engines increase? I think that is more important than the page rank.

Yeah that many links so fast may not be good for your site, depends on what type of sites they are.

i think google update th p r every 4 months not 3 and the backlinks could help in increasing your page rank if your backlinks posted in sites have high page rank and good ranking in alexa .
may be your site has 20000 backlinks but has P R about 1 or 2 becoase your site's backlinks in a warez sites or low rate P R sites

Most people think that it only changes every couple months. This is not true. Google is actually constantly updating the PR, it just shows what your current PR is every couple months. But it's constantly changing. Keep on working....

PR is just for bragging rights IMO, I wouldn't worry about it so much.

Okay, but how can I check or follow the status of my pr while it is changing? Is there any software for this?

This building links too fast myth comment can someone send me a link to a reliable trusted source. Think how easy it would be to sink a competitor by sending them 10k backlinks all of a sudden.

I'm not sure when Google updates their PR, because I've been waiting for close to three months now. They might have updated it, even though my site has not been included. I decided to contact Google and ask them. Still waiting for their answer, it's been three days :)

10,000 backlinks in a month. In a week IS NOT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY to Google! Google knows that sometimes a site can go "viral" and end up being posted all over the internet in minutes. Such as a breaking news report on a blog that can be linked to by hundreds or thousands of sites over night. Google knows this might not be the webmasters fault so Google DOES NOT PUNISH you for so many links at once.

What Google does do in this instance is "sandbox" you. But that depends on other factors too like age of domain, content etc. And who YOU are linking to on your site. It might de-index you for a while but SERP's should return to normal after a while.
