now is 735.000

 

Ive got 2,900,000 in the UK and 800,000 in the US..

 

My is not very good.

 

I think 1.589.730 is not good. Still work to improve it

 

My Alexa ranking was 530,000 last week now its 704,121 lool

 

now 118k
I will be in 100k next week

 

currently at 10,084

 

mine 1s 733.362 >> i hope it changes to 73.362

 

my alexa was 740,496

 

really, who cares about alexa rank anymore...

 

Now it is 687,000

You guys do know that Alexa is pure gibberish right? I mean try using google analytics if you're genuinely interested in how your sites doing traffic wise. And as for it's ability to define a traffics source its a joke. I've seen sites which receive 50%+ traffic from google alone show 5% on alexa. I have also tested its bounce rate calculations, again they are massively inaccurate.

 

I've also though that alexa rank would always be better on the "geekier sites" or high tech areas. Just for the simple fact that you need to have the alexa toolbar installed and that's typically something that someone who uses a computer frequently like a tech guy. IDK if this is true or not but when I thought about it thats what I came up with.

 

Alexa is a very very basic indicator and can be manipulated very easily my Rapidshare site is stuck on 241k and has been for about 10 days its not very fluid the movement it tends to move and then stop again,the best indicator for how a site is doing in my mind is awstats as that gives you the details from the server.Thats my take on it anyway.

I've got one site with an Alexa rank of 43,854 - and another with an Alexa rank of 600,000.

Guess which one out of the two gets about 20 times more traffic and unique visitors than the other !!

10 points to you if your answer was the one with the Alexa rank of 600,000 !!!

 

That doesn't make any sense unless the 600k site is new.

 

Nope - the 600,000 site is 8 years old. The 43,854 is 2 years old.

Just want to show that a low Alexa ranking really doesnt mean much in terms of visitors, etc. Its just like Pagerank - a number used to base things on which no real substance behind it. At the end of the days, its the SERPs that matter - not a number attatched to your site with no real value or point behind it.
