For me, it's the Large Rectangle (336 x 280) and Medium Rectangle (300 x 250). Other formats can also do well if blended nicely.

bigger, the better! make your site design to integrate big ads than other formats blended nicely(does not matter is they are image or text ads)
336 x 280 is the best one for me. It depends on your site layout. You need to highlight your ads among content. Its better if you make site fonts as same as the ads font. And place 336 x 280 rectangular under your title. Make more channels and try with different places in your site. Track earning with channels and choose best one for your site.
combination of Picture and text better, design and place of ads should be match with content of site, I saw some sites where ads places just between the content of sites, and it works good.

It depends on your layout. For me, rectangle ads always provide the better result compare to other sizes
336x280 Large Rectangle is a great block, be sure to make it look like it belongs in your website. Don't use too many bright colors
