    Hi,
I got a docx file but cannot open it with ms-word. I tried to convert it using docx2doc.com but it doesn't work anymore i think.
    Any other free solution?
    Thanks

Tell them to send in .doc file format or send the articles via gmail. Then you can open the attached files in html and copy/paste the articles in .doc file.

You can download Converter from microsoft website as stated above.
Also if your friends have MS 2007, they can open and "Save As" .doc file

Older MS Word versions have a plugin which you can download from Microsoft site, once that is installed you should be able to open .docx files normally.

If you just want to view it, simply upload it to google docs ( or attact it to an email in gmail ) and see it in online viewer.. Simple !

I like the Open Office solution best. Once Open Office is downloaded and installed on your computer you do not have to be online to convert docx to doc. Plus, I'm partial to FREE software :D
