How can I make $300 a month with affiliate marketing?

I live in a poor country, but I am quite tech savvy (I'm trained as a computer programmer). My cost of living is about $300 USD / month. I would like to be able to live off of online affiliate marketing - and I would like to be able to do so as quickly as possible. Can you guys please point me to what you think are the quickest ways to reach this goal?

Even though affiliate marketing has become extraordinarily popular, the truth of the matter is that 90% of the people involved in this type of marketing will bring in less than $20 in income per month. As I say all the time... Don't think about making money. Think of ways you can help others. Eventually the money will come.

I have written so much about this niche that you will be able to make an "Educated" decision on what you need to do to become successful in your online venture with Affiliate Marketing.

You need to start off by learning the basics, the foundation of IM. Easy and quick to do. Well, maybe not too quick. It depends on the person.

The majority of marketing revolves around google. You must know how to do keyword research. You must know how to find a niche. If you can learn that, you will be well on your way to making a few bucks. Gurucreation is right on by saying to think about ways to help others. This is the trick and is very hard for some people to learn. But with that, you need to think about why someone needs/wants a product or answer. Identifying those people is when you find your niche.;)

That's really interesting. Could you show me these statistics in black and white though? I really doubt that this is true to be quite honest.

There aren't any statistics - people just like making them up because they think it makes them sound intelligent...

Just do what you need to do. And the money will come naturally.

I have to tell you, I am getting tired of affiliate programs fast. There are to many that don't work and to many people given referals to companies that are terrible to work with. Sorry, just had to let that out.

Screw statistics. Focus on making money and growing your own business and don't pay attention to how many other people are failing/succeeding, it doesn't have any effect on you.

On another note, I wish I could live off of $300 a month here like where you're from.

I really don't care about statistics. To be honest I thought it was a load of bollocks, but it's nice to see if people can back up what they're saying. It's obviously not true.

I don't think there's any fast cash earning in IM. It need lot of time & hardworks.

Any business takes time to build. Heard the old adage 'Rome was not built in a day'?
While Affiliate Marketing may not fetch you $300 immediately, you could suppourt yourself taking up a few freelance writing jobs, which tie in with your line of interest, or along side take up a job as a VA to bigger players so you learn the ropes.

There are several jobs out there that will directly or indirectly help improve your ability to build your line of intertest.

Thanks zeekstern. Actually, I already have a niche in mind and I've done keyword research. Let's assume I want to generate most of my traffic from Google.

How would you go about promoting from this stage? I've seen people here (and elsewhere) buying lots of articles... but exactly how do you go about using them? Buy one domain and write lots of blog posts on it? Buy many domains and link them together? Lots of ezine articles? Just not quite sure where to start.

It has it's pros and cons. Then again, if you like good medical care (i.e. medical care based on science and not superstition) and the ability to eat meat and eggs without having to cook them to death to kill all the bacteria, maybe you shouldn't be so envious ;)

Yeah I know what you mean. I just meant I wish that here in the U.S, $300 would be enough to live off of and our quality of life wouldn't change.

Everyone's points are very true and need to be taken on board, however the first thing you need to know and always remember is it will not happen over night.

Earning money from affiliate marketing is very hard there is huge competition, I am not saying it can not be done at all as it can. Though please do not go into it
thinking you will have your bills covered within a week. Lots of researched on the niche you are going to concentrate on and a marketing plan will help you lots.

And good advice I always tell myself is "stay focused!"

    Good Luck!!

I think it's very important to find the best places to learn but even more important than that is staying away from regurgitated, bad information blogs/sites that just waste your valuable time. I think newbies can waste a lot of time at makemoneyonline blogs like what GuruCreation has shamelessly self promoted in his initial reply (no offense but you shouldn't be pointing newbies to this..you have written a lot but its a whole lot of nothing...post more tutorials and case studies, less SEO food).

There is a lot of truth to the idea that most people simply don't have what it takes to make any substantial amount online. It takes a lot of hard work and determination not to mention staying focused when outside distractions come over to knock you upside your head.

I'm not sure where you live but right now I'm in Mexico and the cost of living is a tad bit higher than $300/mo but not by much. I'm fortunate enough to have been doing this for quite a few years now and get by very well especially down here. If I were to move back to America I'd be earning the income of about an average household - don't really want to live like that though, I like paying just $200 for rent.

Just keep at it reallyneedmoney but most importantly you need to take action. Not next week, not tomorrow, but right now.

Seriously, register a domain and make your first website today. It's the best thing you can do now to start learning.
