Selling Potentially selling sunglasses site (of interest to UK DP'ers)....

    Hi guys
This offer is geared toward UK DP'ers as the site in question is geared toward the British market and uses a British dropshipping company. So without further ado...

In the middle of last summer I thought I would try my luck at the dropshipping game again. As I had previously dropshipped DevilWear items, I thought this time round I would "specialise". I therefore purchased a domain name and set up an Open Cart site and proceeded over the autumn and winter to populate it with designer sunglasses from DevilWear.

My thinking was that by doing it this way (slowly) the domain name would age a bit (giving it that extra bit of authority in the search engines), and I would also have time to build links to the site. Over the course of the autumn and winter I have built (thus far) almost 400 (as per yahoo site explorer) links, with many more still to be discovered and counted (and I know for a fact that many more links will be appearing over the course of the following months due to my method of link building).

The site has now been populated with almost all the sunglasses range from DevilWear (over 400 I think). I have also been receiving the DevilWear daily email, so items that are out of stock appear so on the site, as well as those items that are no longer for sale. In other words, everything is bang up to date stock-wise (I do have another twenty or so items to add).

I have now decided to take another route in my online marketing efforts, and as such will not have time to maintain this website for much longer. Therefore I have decided to (potentially) sell it. I say potentially because it depends on the kinds of offers I receive and whether I deem them to be acceptable or not. Reason being is that I have spent literally hundreds of man-hours setting this site up, adding the products, link building, article writing, etc, etc. I have even set up a blog to accompany the site which thus far is receiving fresh content each week.

Basically what we have here is the ideal opportunity for somebody (novice or expert) who wants to get into the sunglasses dropshipping business. The timing should be just right as summer is still a couple of months away, and the foundations are there for somebody to enjoy a profitable business with. The hard work has been done, so you will more or less have a ready-made business on your hands.

Now, just to reiterate - my efforts since the end of last summer have been to populate the site and build up linking authority. I have only made two sales and that was more by luck than anything else. But before anybody says, WTF, don't forget that my site wasn't even populated with products at the end of the last summer season, so it has basically only known autumn and winter. A new site is NOT going to sell sunglasses in autumn and winter :)

The site also has an SSL certificate that I purchased, but because it was my web host that set this up, I'm not sure if this is transferable or not. Also, as many people are aware, Devilwear has four standard account levels - standard, gold, platinum and ultimate, and I purchased a platinum account (which still has a few months to run). As such, the prices currently showing for products on the site, reflect this. In other words, I have deliberately tried to keep prices down so I can try and become competitive while the site matures. Obviously, these can be changed to suit when/if someone purchases the site.

I am therefore, open to offers and you can PM me these.
Please, think about this carefully and consider the amount of time that has gone into building this before you make an offer. I will also answer any questions you may have.

    The site is:

    Thanks very much

    Anthony

    Hi
The profit all depends on what account level you take on Devilwear. The platinum, which is the top one and the one I use (and costs £79 per annum) affords the greater discounts on the goods. The least any item will make on the site at the moment is £10 profit, and that is with free UK delivery taken into account (obviously, the delivery option was my choice, so this can be set to charge delivery and make more profit). You would have to check the Devilwear site yourself and check out all the account levels to garner the sort of profits you could make. Essentially, you can set any price you like, but if you set them too much and don't end up competitive, you ain't gonna sell.

I don't have a reserve on this because to be honest with you I don't know how much to charge. What I do know is that I have spent literally hundreds of hours setting the site up and getting link backs (article marketing, social bookmarking, etc, etc) so I will need the offer to reflect this. At the end of the day, if I deem the offers to be totally crap then I won't sell and will just go through the motions with the site.

I dont want to spoil the fun for you .....but the hundreds, if not thousends of hours you spent promoting your site and working hard on it wont play much of a role when looking fora high price. However, if you all your hard work end up making you revenue then this will reflect more on your sites price.
If you are real serious and want to sell your site on this forum then you really will need to give us an idea of what price range you are looking for. You will also need to show some traffic details and proof of revenue. As a potential site buyer this is what I am looking for....information.

If you really want to sell your site then please PM me , or present the information on your thread...thanx

I already mentioned in my original post; I have made two sales and those by luck. Each sale netted me £10 profit. Visitors at the moment - between 20-30 uniques (numbers steadily increasing as the summer approaches - in December/January this number was 5-10). Potential is there for someone willing to put the work in. I have carried out the (huge) groundwork and everything is ready to go. I have no price in mind, again as mentioned above. I am open to all sensible offers. Someone in the know will see the potential of this site.

I have nothing to hide and have laid all bare in this thread. Anyone can check the backlinks and where they originate as well. (By the way, I just checked the backlinks on Yahoo Site Explorer and I appear to have done my site a disservice in the original post - the backlinks are now close to 600, so plenty of scope to get up the search results for the targeted keywords).
