How can I learn to design my own wordpress theme?

    I just want to learn how to create a simple wordpress theme, nothing fancy. Do you have any recommendations on where I can learn to do it?

    Start from PHP language.
    If you know the PHP Language than there are some further steps to move forword.

    Learning something can take years or weeks. Depends on how fast you can learn something and how much time you're prepared to spend learning it. Search google for PSD to Wordpress and i'm sure you will find more than enough resources to get you started.

    You don`t need advanced PHP....you only need to know the basics.
    Wordpress themes work with some already made functions..you just need to learn those from wordpress official codex
    After that, you just need to know Html, Css and have creativity

    Hey guys, I just saw a video on youtube from a guy that recommends the site psd2cssonline.com.
    In the video he just use the layout that he designed in photoshop and upload it to the site and the site automatically generate a code for wordpress.
    Have anyone heard of it? what do you think?

    Download some of the Wordpress Theme Frameworks that are available, install a copy of Wordpress locally and start building off of other people's skeletons :)
