They're coming from all over the world. It's from several fanpages I run where they have to complete various steps in order to get something (one is a Firefox add-on). One of the steps is to visit my webpage which just has ads and a search engine.

Ok... yeah, there really is no clear cut niche. I would use CPA but I don't want to because of the moral implications lol... Cuz everyone who completes one of them will get there phone or email address spammed, am I right?
There are plenty of good CPA programs that do not spam people. Just stick with the more reputable companies that actually sell a quality product or service.
Adsense ads with high payout means daily 10 to 20 dollars and you could also use affiliate ads for better earnings!!!
You could either use Adsence, any other ppc program, CPA, Affiliate promotions ore just plain and simple CPM advertising (with 1,000 UV you wouldn't make anything with CPM)
put up an advertising page offering banner ad sales for, say, $39.99/month. stagger this in terms i.e. the longer they pay for the cheaper they get. this is probably more lucrative than using AdSense in the long run, because selling one banner ad will probably earn you more than 2 months on adsense! good luck
You could try content unlock, with the likes of CPALead, depending on how good the content is, visitors are more likely to complete a survey to have access to it
Everything depends on the niche. Some niches are only good for adsense while others, adsense would be your worst decision and you should think of promoting affiliate products.
Affiliate programs related to your website will be the best! One of my website have about 800-1200visitors/month (I'm not working on that website anymore) and I am earning about $30-$60/month and some months I had +$100 per month. I joined one of the best affiliate programs for my niche, and I did a strategy to have targeted traffic for this affiliate products! Now you have to do the same if you want to earn some money!
