Google Phone the Nexus One

The only reason I haven't bought an iPhone yet is that work pays for my T-mobile account and iPhones only work on AT&T. But... the Google Phone looks nice.

I don't like that it doesn't have multi touch and there are only 1/10 of the apps for iPhones.

    Anyone getting it? Likey?

you can get the iPhone "fixed" so that you can use it with any providers. i have seen lot of articles that discuss how people are hacking iPhones and using it other carriers. there are lot of sites too that are offering such services. i hate when companies charge for a product and restrict you to go with their own or affiliated carrier for the service. you should have freedom of use and YOU are the one who should decide which service provider you want to go with.

Gphone isn't as popular as Iphone, which meas there are less apps available out there, but this is going to change surely as more and more people use Gphone.

And yeah, multi-touch is cool, my cell phone does not support it either, too bad. You may want to make sure if they will add this feature in futher firmware updates. Please note if you do NOT play mobile games, then multi-touch isn't that eye catching.

I currently have a Samsung I8910 which has a Amoled screen which seems will appear on Nexus One, it is really cool.

The only reason I wouldn't get the Nexus One is because of the lack of a physical keyboard (the same reason I never bought an iPhone)

I had an iPod Touch for a few weeks but never quite got used to the typing on it (then it got stolen).

I'm pretty happy with my Droid, which is unfortunately not compatible with most services. :(

Then you may try Nokia N97, it comes with a touch screen and a QWERT keyboard.

As you seem to from US, you may like QWERT keyboard, however Nokia is competing with Apple in North America, and I think the chances is very slim for N, so Palm and Blackberry may fit your needs:D.

If I remember right , the Nexus One was "fixed" by a programmer who made the "multi-touch" feature
    for it.

I would hold off on purchasing a "Google Phone" just yet, though. They are brand new and the next
Android OS should be a great improvement.

Things are moving so fast in mobile phones that I am just holding on to my old one as long as I can until I see what is next. Currently I am leaning toward an Android based phone, but I am waiting until Firefox for Mobile is released for it - http://mobileuser.mobi/software-applications/

Also I want to see if the Android Marketplace app store starts to fill out a little more with more stuff like is available for the iPhone.

    3. No multi-touch if you don't unblock bootloader
    4. If this is first time you use androil , it's not easy
    5. Lock screen by draw pattern isn't good with me ( i don't like it, not secure )
    6. ...

The Nexus One is an amazing phone :D

The android OS is improving all the time and more and more devs are making apps for it (Google doesn't stop users making competing etc apps like Apple does).

I would love to buy the next generation iPhone given the rumored features/upgrades it has. However, I have been with Verizon since my first cell phone in 1994. Sometimes friends with AT&T can’t get a signal at my house. No phone could possibly make me switch from Verizon. If iPhone remains AT&T only, that will be a deal-breaker for me.

HTC has some phones that outdo the Nexus One. Buying HTC is like buying from google anyway. They have been working closely for over a year now.

In a few months smartphones will be so cheap that most anyone can have one. Take a look at the Nokia Nuron. ( What a name
    for a phone. )

    Got it, Love it.
The phone has always had multi touch, its just the stock browser, maps and gallery that came with it originally didn't. But it only took a few minutes to replace them with apps that did have multitouch.
However, as others have mentioned, its enabled in the stock apps now.

    Like what?
The only other HTC phone I know of that comes close (identical) to the Nexus one specs is the desire, which hasn't been released yet and won't be till some time in April for the UK + Asia pacific and May-June for the US.

    Unless I'm missing something!

The HTC supersonic has a larger screen but not made of AMOLED. It has the same processor, but
is not available everywhere. It runs Android.
