How to Upgrade WordPress from 2.6.5 to WordPress 2.9.2?

    Hi,

    I have an Old WordPress Installed (2.6.5) and I want to upgrade it to 2.9.2.

    Can anyone please tell me how to do it?

    Hi,

    It doesn't allow me to do in this way.

    It asks me to first download the latest version and then update it.

    Any help please?

    You need to download the latest upgrade, unzip it to a local folder, then upload via FTP to your existing wp install directory, overwriting with newer files. Log in and you will be prompted to update the database. That is all there is to it.

    first export your posts using tools -> export option and also take backup of db and wp files

    now install new 2.9.2 and import that file in admin panel also u need to enable plugins

    you can use your hosting phpadmin or use mysqldump in shell :)

    try using a plugin that enables you upgrading wordpress , search in the wordpress plugin directory , you will find it , it is very helpful
