    Hi.

I am working on a site and on my end it appears to take a pretty long time to load.

    Alcohost.com

Could you please check it out and let me know approximately how long it takes to load the entire homepage?
Also, what is your connection speed/ browser?

Thank you so much for taking a look. It is still only in the early stages and your input would mean a lot!

It is quick for me, but I have broadband... get yourself "Web CEO" software - it will give you a suggestion on the speed of the page, or Google does it too

    61.17 seconds, 167 requests. I am on a T3.

The initial get took 6 seconds, but this is not the problem. The problem is the way in which you are loading the google map data through "_promaps_geocache.xml". 100+ requests at ~70ms per request, not including the time between requests, adds up fast!

I am on uk broadband. Page appears after about 7 or 8 seconds but the Google map takes another 7 or 8 seconds to finish loading all the location flags.

Your website take a lot of seconds to load, so that your website has a total of 41 HTTP requests and a total weight of 1053.8K bytes, to know more details use this tools (YSlow).

You can find YSlow tools on this link: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5369

I have broadband and ie7. It took about 5-6 seconds to get some info on the page but I could not move the right-hand viewing bar (sorry can't think of the technical term) down the screen for the next 30 or so seconds - ie it seemed to be still loading something. I then gave up.
