Hello I just Realized that i was wasting my money on paying people to update my website,link services,and other SEO services. If i continue doing that i will go bankrupt some day because it really cost a loot and these days i have some other financial problems and i cannot afford to pay a looot for SEO's. I have always paid others to do everything for me other then monitoring my sites. I have always paid for everything from changing adsense code to chaning layout or other complex stuff. So i dont know anything about this. I dont consider myself a webmaster but i have owned websites for last 5 years and i earn a decent income from them and its in low $xx,xxx range per month. I am going to quite my other business's and concentrate more on net business but i need to learn basics of SEO to become a webmaster. I get things very quickly so if i understand the basics i will make it happen myself. I hope you guys will help me here. Just give me basics if i am starting a new website where should i start and where should i go in terms of SEO Looking for help

Yes i am serious. I told you i do not consider myself a webmaster but i have been in online business for years now but i have paid for all the work and now i think is time to learn everything. I did not try before because i didnt have time. I had a used car business(dealership) I am going to hand that business over to my brother now and he will take care of it from now on and i want to spend most of my time on computer now so i want to learn. I think that will clarify why i didnt try before because that really is time consuming business

Well, the best thing to do would be to read as much as you can on forums like this. Since your sites sound like they are already pretty successful, don't rush into anything... SEO helps, but if you do the wrong things it can hurt, and sometimes even get you banned. In your personal situation I would recomment reading things like www.MattCutts.com/blog/ and the blog on www.webuildpages.com --those will get you started. Just be careful not to do anything drastic or too quickly and kill your golden goose.
Thanks for the help. I am not going to try anything on my established websites but i have paid for couple of websites to be designed and i am going to put my 100% effort in promoting those myself so i will only use new techniques on my new sites. Please keep the help coming thanks
Submit your site to directories to get links and to get indexed. You won't get too much traffic from it and it will take some time you reap the benefits. Download the Excel spreadsheet (near the top) from this site. It contains a massive list of SEO friendly directories. http://info.vilesilencer.com/ You're also going to want link exchanges with as many sites as you can. If your site gets good traffic, this won't be a problem. If it doesn't, you're going to have to start small and work your way up. There are many websites that offer a free link exchange (no real approval needed). I can only think of www.davesdaily.com off the top of my head. You'll get much more traffic from your link exchanges than directories.
