    Hello DP Members,

    I am totally confused.
In 24 hrs I lost over 2.000.000 pages indexed in Yahoo. (from 3.000.000 to 1.000.000)
    Traffic obviously sunk.

All I did is create 6 backlinks from websites and blogs where I found backlinks from my competitors (using Market Samurai for """reverse engineering""")
The back links are from PR0 to PR6 with 4 different KW in "name" of comments and 5 different URLs

What in the world did i do wrong?

    PR: 4 GoogleI: 6,900 GoogleL: 0 Cached: n/a YahooI: 1,020,000 YahooL: 18 YahooLD: 472,678 BingI: 52 Rank: 457408

Well you're defenetly not banned so that's a good thing, it could just be some change in their algorithms. Do you have statistics about what keywords your visitors were typing when they came to your site? If they're all long tail keywords that sort of traffic is very unpredictable....

    Yeah it was 100% longtail.

So far i have about 200 visitors for today i had 2000+ UV yesterday so it's a HUGE difference.

Also i realized that the backlinks i did were all NoFollow comments on blogs so i don't see how this could have torpidoed my entire website!!!

How can you check if a site's been banned or penalized? I lost quite a bit of indexed pages too.

PM me your website and the url where you placed your backlinks at. One thing to note is it does not matter if the links were no follow or not, google can still se those links it might not follow them or consider them as your backlink but they're there. edit: Isn't this about yahoo.com as far as i know yahoo ignores the nofollow setting

If I were you I wouldn't worry much about these backlinks, if it was that easy to de-index a site people would do it all them time to their competitors and how will google know who created the back links?

It must be something else, one other thing could be since they're all long tail keywords. how long have you been enjoying traffic from these keywords? and who's actually ranking there now?

Search for this in google site:yourdomain.com if it loads anything you're not banned.

Edit: Sorry I actually forgot this was in the yahoo section. but I think the same thing applies to yahoo. (you'll most probably get forwarded to the site explorer but it will work)

I haven't posted the url because i'm cautious.

Aside of some 10-20 lost visitors coming on odd and obscure keywords, Yahoo traffic is gone.
Time to kick in some plan B or even plan C...

    Sucks...
